About Us
We are a family owned and operated farm in Western North Carolina.
Chunky Gal Stables has been in operation for about 15 years now. The stables are run by Robb Goins. Robb has been in the horse industry almost his entire life, spending almost 8 years in Montana working on various guest ranches while attending college at Montana State University. Robb has a passion for working with horses and it shows in his work. He has also spent time learning with the one and only Buck Branaman to help perfect his training methods. Robb runs the day to day operations at Chunky Gal Stables and does everything from reservations, guiding and training.
Robb's wife, Tracy, also helps out as well. Tracy mostly handles reservations and the general office work, but occasionaly, if you're lucky, she does get to get out of the office and guide some trails.
What farm wouldn't be complete without an official greeter and trail guide? Levi is generally the first face you will see at Chunky Gal Stables when you arrive. Levi is a 3 year old Australian Shepperd and Cattahoola dog mix. He loves going on the trails with us and making sure everything is safe for everyone. He loves to bring in the horses each morning and makes sure everyone has a smile on their face as soon as they arrive here.
